The role

The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving new business growth for CTS, focused on winning new school, academy trust, and education-sector customers. This role is outward-facing, target-driven, and works closely with marketing, technical, and service teams to convert opportunities into long-term customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, qualify, and win new business opportunities within the education sector
  • Own the full sales cycle from first contact through to contract signature
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of new name opportunities
  • Work closely with marketing on campaigns, events, and lead follow-up
  • Conduct discovery meetings to understand customer needs and position CTS solutions
  • Prepare and present proposals, pricing, and recommendations
  • Develop strong relationships with decision-makers (Heads, Bursars, Trust leaders, CIOs)
  • Maintain accurate pipeline, forecasting, and activity tracking in CRM (HubSpot)
  • Contribute to go-to-market feedback and proposition development

Skills & Requirements

  • Proven success in B2B sales or business development (IT services preferred)
  • Strong prospecting and relationship-building capability
  • Confident communicator, comfortable presenting to senior stakeholders
  • Commercially astute with strong negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, resilient, and outcome-focused
  • Experience selling into schools, MATs, or the public sector
  • Knowledge of managed IT services, cyber security, or cloud solutions
  • Familiarity with HubSpot or similar CRM platforms
