We are seeking a Device Production Intern for a hands-on role at our Crawley-based Service Centre. This summer position is critical to our logistical operations, ensuring that thousands of devices are prepared, enrolled, and ready for students before the new school year begins. This role offers direct, practical experience with the latest education IT technologies, including Microsoft and Chrome OS device management and enrolment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Device Handling: Unpacking new laptops and hardware from delivery shipments and preparing them for processing.
- Technical Enrolment: Performing device enrolment for Microsoft and Chrome OS platforms to ensure they are ready for school network integration.
- Asset Management: Scanning serial numbers and applying asset labels accurately to maintain rigorous inventory records.
- Quality Control: Conducting basic functional checks to ensure all devices meet quality standards before they are deployed to students.
- Logistics Support: Repacking processed devices and supporting all hands-on logistical activities to meet summer production deadlines.
- Workspace Maintenance: Collaborating with the team to maintain an organised and efficient production environment.
Personal Specifications:
- High attention to detail and accuracy when handling high volumes of data and hardware.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, production-oriented environment.
- Organised with the ability to manage repetitive tasks with consistency.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a collaborative "all-hands-on-deck" team.
- Physically capable of handling and moving IT equipment throughout the day.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Essential:
- Ability to follow technical instructions and established processes accurately.
- Excellent time management and punctuality.
- Basic competence using computer systems for data entry and scanning.
- Desirable:
- Current enrolment in or recent graduation from a University or Higher Education program or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production line, or retail environment.
